Bali may be small in size – you can drive around the entire coast in one long day – but its prominence as a destination is huge, and rightfully so. Ask travellers what Bali means to them and you’ll get as many answers as there are flowers on a frangipani tree. Virescent rice terraces, pulse-pounding surf, enchanting temple ceremonies, mesmerising dance performances and ribbons of beaches are just some of the images people cherish.

Begins at 08.30 am. A fabulous day venture featuring mountain and countryside scenery, dance performance, arts and crafts villages, and temples. The morning departure from hotel will take you to Batubulan village to enjoy Barong & Kris Dance performance, telling a straightforward battle between good, the barong, and bad, the rangda. After the performance, the road is lined with outlets for stone sculpture, until we reach Celuk where you will see the activity of silver and gold processing, and the jewelry collection. Then we will bring you to visit Mas village that is famous for woodcarvings with its various collection and to see woodcarvers at work. Continue driving to Samuan Tiga temple built on the 11th century, and then take a walk to the nearby villages around the temple to see Balinese family compound with their peaceful daily life. Drive up to Penelokan village to see the magnificent view of Mount and Lake Batur, then take downhill road passing small villages and groves of giant bamboo to reach Sebatu holy-springs temple. Finally proceed to Ubud via rice terraces of Tegalalang, to visit the center of Balinese artists colony where many kind of crafts and paintings could be found.

Besakih temple is almost 1,000 m above seas level. Besakih is the Mother Temple of Bali, and the complex houses 30 temples, made up of 7 levels of terraces in the mountainside. The symbolic center or main sanctuary of the complex is the Pura Penataran Agungand and the lotus throne or padmasana is the symbolic center of the main sanctuary and ritual focus of the entire complex. It dates to around the seventeenth century.

Starts at 09.00 am. The western districts of Tabanan and Mengwi were once powerful warring princedoms. After leaving the city of Denpasar, we will enter the rice belt of the southern plains. Kept in impeccable order by the "subak" (irrigation system) associations, the fertile fields stretch until foothills of Batukaru volcano. Farmers adhere to no special seasons for planting and harvesting. We will keep north reaching Jatiluwih, which is famed for its magnificent landscapes. The view from the mountain village takes in the whole of South Bali. Perched on a high terraced slope, Jatiluwih earned its name, which means "Truly Marvelous". After entering the village of Baturiti, we will take a winding road leads to Bedugul. As you leave the southern plains, the landscape changes from flowing tiers of rice to motley patches of onion, cabbage and papaya grown in the cool climate of the highlands. In Bedugul lies the serene lake of Bratan with Ulun Danu temple on a small promontory on the lake. Next we will visit the nearby Candi Kuning flowers and fruits market before down road to return to the hotel.

Starts at 09.00 am. The trip will bring you to explore Ubud and it surroundings, which is believed as the center of Artists, Arts and Crafts in this island. Drive through the village of Batubulan to visit a Balinese compounds as a sample of traditional Balinese home which looks inward. Usually the house is entered through a gateway backed by a small wall known as the "aling-aling". It serves a practical and a spiritual purpose, both preventing passersby from seeing in and stopping evil spirits from entering. Continue the trip to reach the center of Ubud, where pasar or market is located. Spend some time to enjoy the activity of sellers and buyers, then we will take you to an artist gallery where Balinese painters are in action, see and learn a little about the process of creating art.
